What is a Graston Technique®? Graston Technique® is an innovative, patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively reduce scar tissue and fascial restrictions. Muscle knots are formed when injured tissue heal improperly and scar tissue-like fibers forms. With Graston Technique®, the body's healing process restarts and new nutrients and blood are brought to the area. The Graston Technique® utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to specifically detect and effectively treat conditions better than traditional therapies or even certain conditions which fail to respond to traditional therapies. Graston Technique® is similar to Active Release Technique® (ART) and Rolfing® as a manual therapy. Try Graston Technique® to experience the difference and to see if it works better for you.
How can Graston Technique® help with numbness & tingling? There are many common extraspinal sites where soft tissue can have scar tissue-like adhesions from muscle, fascia and ligaments anywhere along the path of a nerve. Releasing this compression or impingement can safely help many cases of numbness and tingling where surgery is not required. Nerves and brain cells do not regenerate like other cells in the body. Early detection and treatment are important in preventing any potential damage to a pinched nerve. Chronic pain patients may experience nerve changes such as hypersensitivity. Unusual cases such as complex regional pain syndrome (CPRS) / Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) result when the nervous system and the immune system are dysfunctional.
